Description de la vidéo

Located on the western edge of Eugene, Oregon, the West Eugene Wetlands is a beautiful and rare area of grassland habitats. Comprised of less than one percent of the original native wet prairie, these wetlands are home to over 200 species of wildflowers, plants, birds, and animals, including four threatened and endangered species: Fender’s blue butterfly, Kincaid’s lupine, Bradshaw’s lomatium, and Willamette daisy.

In addition to wet prairies, habitat found in the nearly 3,000 acre West Eugene Wetlands includes vernal pools, emergent wetlands, upland prairie, oak savannas and woodlands, and ash swales. These wetlands are enjoyed by bikers and hikers, nature enthusiasts, botanical sightseers, birders, families and school groups. The City of Eugene's Department of Parks and Open Space shares that these wetlands have been recognized in Oregon and nationally for the high-quality restorations happening here.
