Remaking a movie seems like a sure thing. You select a film that made some money when it was first released and make it again with the current big-name movie stars. Sometimes it’s not a sure thing. Perhaps an aspect of the process (casting, directing, scripting) was weak. Maybe fans of the original won’t accept a new version of their beloved film. It’s like bees (said Pooh Bear), you never know. All of this is relevant because this show Susan Kamyab reviews a major remake: “The Magnificent Seven”. With a lineage that begins with the “Seven Samurai” by the great Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, includes the American adaptation, the original “The Magnificent Seven” and passes on to “Battle Beyond the Stars” and the anticipated “Justice League” (2017), this new version of the classic story carries a lot of expectations. How does it measure up? Susan will tell you. Just watch this review. Also, she really didn’t like “America Honey”.
