Was it a bad idea to travel 600 miles to and from a race event totally out of my element as a rider? I wanted to get into some different skill sets with more technically difficult terrain and overall lower speeds. If this first round of AMRA for 2011 is an indicator, I struck gold. Whimping out and not getting a finisher pin or any series points is not the best way to start a series but the knowledge gained and otherwise extremely positive experience was well worth the expense and effort. Better physical conditioning is needed along with development of technical riding skills. This is where I'm headed with my riding "career" anyway so it seems AMRA is a perfect fit. Rock Stars MC was the club putting this race on and they did an outstanding job. I was completely impressed from on line registration through tech inspection.
